Lions
Score Big In Win Over H-TR-S/PC (1-9-12)
Louisville
gladly accepted five forfeits by Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer/Pawnee
City, leading to an easy 51-12 Senior Night victory by the Lions over
the short-handed Titan squad.
In the seven matches that actually took place, Louisville recorded four
wins, three of which came via pins as John Leversee, Colby Smith and Steihl
Reeves stuck their opponents.
Leversee, a 182 pound junior, opened the match with a dramatic finish
over Michael Reed. Behind by a score of 7-5 entering the final period,
Leversee pinned Reed, staking the Lions to a 6-0 team lead.
Smith recorded the quickest pin of the night, putting Nate Wiers on his
back in 28 seconds while Reeves, the lone senior on the LHS squad, pinned
Ben Railsback in 53 seconds.
“It was awesome,” said Reeves about getting a pin on Senior
Night. “It’s nice to get a pin in front of a large crowd.”
Reeves is optimistic about the team’s future. “We have great
numbers, our underclassmen are hard workers and we all have fun at practice.”
The Lions travel south to the Syracuse Pin Tournament on Friday with action
scheduled to begin at 4:30.
