Fifth Place Match: Dallas Lemmers wrapped two takedowns around a Derek Holt escape to take a 4-1 lead after the shortened first period. Consolation, Semifinals: In a rematch of last week's district finals, Fort Calhoun's Shane Perrigo (30-4) scored four points in the final 40 seconds by defending Lemmers' twister move then turning it into a takedown and two back points, transforming an 8-7 deficit into an 11-8 win over Dallas Lemmers (36-8). Dallas will now face Derek Holt of St. Paul in a repeat matchup from round one of the State Tourney with the winner claiming the fifth place medal.
Consolation, Third Round: Dallas Lemmers defeated Weston Walton of Grand Island, 6-3. Lemmers scored four points in the one-minute first period on a takedown and two back points. Dallas then took a 4-1 lead into the final period after Walton scored on an escape. Lemmers scored on an escape :26 seconds into the final period but Walton countered with a takedown to tighten the score at 5-3. Hoping to score big, a desperate Walton cut Lemmers with :34 seconds left but could do no damage as Lemmers rode out the remainder of the match with the 6-3 win. Guaranteed of a medal, Lemmers (36-7) will continue his season at the Consolation Semifinals beginning Saturday morning at 8:30.
