Knisley, Lemmers are State Bound (2-13-10)

Zach Knisley and Dallas Lemmers will be representing Louisville High School
at the Nebraska State Wrestling Tournament which begins next Thursday
at the Qwest Center in Omaha.
Both will go into the meet as number two seeds after falling in the District
C-1 finals held in the Louisville gym.
With the score tied at 2-2, Knisley was pinned by Brody Welchert of Fort
Calhoun, rated number one at 130 pounds by the Omaha World-Herald
and a medalist at the state meet two years ago.
Lemmers was beaten 9-6 by Shane Perrigo, 9-6. Behind by as much as 5-1
in the second period, Lemmers fought back using a reversal midway through
the third period to tighten the score at 7-6. Needing to score to survive,
Lemmers was taken down late in the match to account for the final margin.
Knisley (23-8), in his first trip to state, will square off against Joseph
Mendez (36-2) of Bayard in first round action at the State Meet while
Derek Holt of St. Paul (29-10) will be Lemmers’ (33-6) first round
opponent. Dallas is making his fourth trip to the state meet which is
slated to begin Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
“We would have liked to gotten a couple more to state,” said
Louisville head coach Brandon Stanley. “But the team wrestled well
this weekend.” The Lions finished tenth in the field of 16 teams.
Syracuse, with eight finalists, easily won the meet with Fort Calhoun
a distant second.

Dallas Lemmers (33-6) will be making his fourth appearance at state
after losing a 9-6 decision to Fort Calhoun's Shane Perrigo.
