Romp at DC West (1-30-10)
The
Louisville Lions wrestling team won the Douglas County West Duals Tourney
going through the day-long event with a perfect 5-0 record.
The Lions defeated Fremont Bergan, Conestoga and Newman Grove in pool
play then faced ECNC rival, Yutan, in the semifinals of the championship
bracket, easily defeating the Chieftains 44-25.
Newman Grove, who dropped a 47-31 decision to LHS earlier, was set to
face the Lions for the team title but since both teams were from the same
pool, a re-mtach was vetoed by meet officials and Louisville faced Mount
Michael in an exhibition match won by the Lions 47-30.
Three Louisville wrestlers went through the duals undefeated with 5-0
records. Freshman Andrew DeBrie paced the Lions with three pins while
seniors Dallas Lemmers and Zach Knisley pinned two opponents apiece.
Louisville will now focus their attention on hosting the East Central
Nebraska Conference Wrestling Invite on Friday. Matches are set to begin
at 3:00 p.m.

Louisville's
Andrew DeBrie pinned Nate Van Haute of Mt. Michael, one of three pins
accumulated by the freshman, helping the Lions to a 5-0 dual record
at the DC West Dual Tourney.
Zach Knisley won five matches, including two pins, this one over Mt.
Michael's Lukas Buehler.
