Louisville Falls to Palmyra (10-13-11)

Palmyra entered the ECNC tournament having won previous five matches including a championship in the Falls City Invitational last weekend. Momentum was definitely on the Panthers side as they swept the Lions in a short 16-25, 15-25, 7-25 outing to improve their record to 14-5 on the season.

Louisville struggled with their passing game throughout the match and experienced difficulties on serve receive.

The Lions Achilles heel was reflected in the Panthers 14 aces, five by Senior Kelby Phillips. Statistically the other aspects of the game were nearly even with Palmyra edging the Lions on kills 26-23 and blocks 4-2.

Palmyra’s control at the serving line forced several Lion miscues that resulted in free tosses to the Panthers aggressive offensive attack. Makenzie Reynoldson slammed 10 kills for the Panthers.

Natalie Minchow and Morgan Dittberner paced the Lion offense with 8 and 6 kills respectively with sophomore Sam Lane chipping in four.

Louisville is back in action on Tuesday, October 18 at Boys Town for a single match against the DC West Falcons at 5:00.
