Tough Field Greets Lions at W-C (4-1-11)

The Louisville boys and girls track teams ran into stiff competition at the Wilber-Clatonia Invitational won by the Tri County boys and the Heartland girls teams.

Kaitlin Coughlin was the top finisher for the Lions, earning the silver medal with a leap of 34’ 3/4”, her best effort in the event since last year’s conference meet. The talented senior also placed third in the 400 (1:09) while freshman Leigh Ann Novotny high jumped 4’ 6” to match the bronze medal showing.

Paul Drelicharz was the top scorer for the LHS boys team, earning a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a personal best of 39’ 9 3/4” and a sixth place in the 800 in a time of 2:24. The senior also ran legs on the sixth place 1600 relay as well as the 3200 relay team which finished in third place.

The Lions varsity track squads will travel to Malcolm on Tuesday, April 5 for a 2:00 start with the Louisville jayvee teams headed to Lincoln Southwest at 3:00.
