Relay, Coughlin are 10th at State (5-21-11)

The Louisville girls 4x400 relay team of Kristin Brandstrom, Sydney Stander, Taylor Zaracki and Kaitlin Coughlin finished in 10th place at the Nebraska State Class C Track and Field Championships matching the 10th place Coughlin earlier achieved in the triple jump.

The relay team’s time of 4:17.868 is the best this spring and the second best in Louisville High School history behind the 4:15.5 turned in by Lindsey Giles, Chelsea Dillon, Jenna Laughlin and Josee Simonson in 2007. The time may have been even better except for a collision with a competing team during the exchange between Stander and Zaracki.

“These things happen,” said Louisville head coach Chase Rasby. “Taylor had to come to a complete stop after getting the baton, yet the girls ran their best time of the year.”

“We went over possible situations and were prepared for anything,” continued Rasby. “I’m proud of the way the girls came back to get seventh in their heat.”

Coughlin also competed in the state meet triple jump, finishing in tenth place with leap of 33' 3.25”.
