Wahoo Shuts Out Crush (9-26-11)

In a battle of teams rated by the Lincoln Journal-Star, top-ranked
Wahoo easily defeated eighth rated Cass County Central, 9-0, at the Ash
Grove Field.
Wahoo’s Audrey Voboril, a two-time All-State pitcher, and shortstop
Sydney Hancock, a 2010 All-Stater, led the Warriors, who have now won
12 of their last 13 games.
Voboril struck out five Crush batters, allowing just three hits while
Hancock capped off a six run sixth inning by blasting a three-run homer
over the left-center field fence, giving Wahoo the final cushion necessary
to claim the mercy rule win.
The Crush offense could not get untracked as each of the hits were recorded
with at least one out in the inning. The experienced Voboril deftly avoided
any additional damage.
Cass County Central’s Heather Hauschild suffered the loss, giving
up just six hits while striking out 10 Warriors.
C4 will now turn their attention to the Thursday trip to Raymond Central,
17-9 and ranked eighth in Class C by the Omaha World-Herald.
First pitch is slated for 6:30.
