Bishop Is Lone Medalist for LHS (9-12-11)

Senior Jeff Bishop was Louisville’s lone medalist at the Yutan Invitational held at Fremont’s Valley View Golf Course held outside of Fremont.

Medaling for the second straight meet, Bishop’s time of 20:25.9 was his best time of the young season. Chris Van Horn also recorded his best time of the year while placing 33rd, just behind Lane Sladky who ran the 5,000 meters in 22:55.6.

In the girls portion of the meet, Louisville’s Sydney Stander and Dani Gennaro each ran their best times of the year while finishing 25th and 28th, respectively. Stander ran the course in 20:04.9 with Gennaro following in 20:13.7.

“The kids did a nice job of competing today against a tough field of runners,” said Louisville head coach, Matt Hammer. “Jeff Bishop had a great finish to earn his second straight medal of the year. Recovery time will be short this week in order to be ready for the Bennington Invite on Thursday afternoon.”

The Bennington Invitational is held at the Lake Side Course, located just west of the high school. The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m.
