Upsets Lions (1-27-12)
Mead 55, Louisville boys 49 Mead outscored Louisville 16-1 in the third period while defeating the Lions, 55-49, in the LHS gymnasium. The victory upped Mead's record to 2-14 while the Lions saw their season mark drop to 7-9. A pair of Raider sophomores led the way as Brandon Pickworth and Ryan Hughes scored eight apiece in the decisive period while totaling 26 and 24 game points, respectively, to account for 50 of the 55 Mead points. The Raiders, who came into the contest averaging 29.7 points a game, reached a season high-water mark for points scored while snapping a 17 game East Central Nebraska Conference losing streak. The Lions were led by senior forward Jake Snodgrass’s double-double, tallying 15 points and 14 rebounds against the Raiders. The Lions return to the court for quarter-final play of the ECNC Tournament at 7:00 on Monday at Yutan.
