Leads E-M to ECNC Win (12-6-11)
Elmwood-Murdock 41, Louisville girls 26 Megan Schmale’s 26 points paced the Elmwood-Murdock Knights to a 41-26 victory over Louisville in the home-opener for the Lions. Schamle connected on 7-of-12 shots from the field in the first half, including a spurt midway through the second quarter when the 6’ 0” senior scored on three of four Knight possessions that increased the visitor’s lead from one to seven points en route to a 19-14 halftime lead. In the second-half, Elmwood-Murdock increased their advantage to as many as 12 points after two Schmale free throws made the score 34-22 with five minutes remaining before Louisville’s Morgan Dittberner and Jordyn Marcoe provided some hope by dropping in jumpers from opposite corners. But it was too little, too late as E-M ended the game on a 7-0 run, pulling away with the 41-26 win. Dittberner and Natalie Minchow topped LHS scorers with 11 and 7 points, respectively. Louisville regroups before facing the Malcolm Clippers in the LHS gym on Thursday. The Lions varsity game will tip-off at 6:00. Statistics are unofficial
