Lions Double-Up Wildcats, 64-32 (1-14-12)
Louisville girls 64, Cedar Bluffs 32

Louisville’s Morgan Dittberner scored 22 points while leading the Lions to a 64-32 victory over the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats.

The junior forward scored an efficient 22 points, tying her career best, on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, helping the Lions improve their season record to 10-4.

Defensively, Louisville held Cedar Bluffs, 8-6 on the year, seven points below their season average, allowing just 4 points in the second quarter to take a 31-19 lead at intermission. The LHS defense was even tougher in the second half of play, allowing just 11 shots and 13 points.

“The girls played very well after an initial surge in the first quarter by the Lady Wildcats,” said Louisville head coach Wally Johnson. “We definitely didn’t have the legs we normally do on defense, due to a very intense schedule the past few weeks. But the girls settled in and really picked it up defensively. Morgan Dittberner played well offensively and did a great job mixing up her offensive game from outside in.”

“Our bench was a crucial part of the victory,” continued Johnson. “They really sparked us and created scoring opportunities with their defense. LeighAnn Novotny really gae us a boost at the post on both sides of the ball along with Carlee Derby giving us a great defensive effort.”

Louisville hosts the D.C. West Falcons (3-10) on Tuesday with start-time set for 6:00 p.m.
