Malcolm Shuts Down Lions (2-22-10)
Malcolm 52, Louisville boys 29

For the second consecutive week a Malcolm basketball team ended a Louisville season when the Clippers defeated the Lions’ boys team, 52-29, in the first round of the Class C2-3 Subdistrict basketball tournament.

The Clippers held the Lions to just two field goals in the middle two quarters of play as Louisville connected on just two of 20 shots from the field in the 16 minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Malcolm used balanced scoring to put the game away. Led by Jake Tagart, who registered seven of his nine game points during the decisive two quarters, and 6’ 3” center Paul Ganow, who scored five of his game high 13 points, the Clippers outscored the Lions 27-6.

LHS was led by seniors Adam Sparks with a team high 11 points and DJ Hobbs, who pulled down 11 rebounds.

The Clippers (9-11) move on to play Elmwood-Murdock on Tuesday evening as Louisville ended the season with a 1-19 mark.
